The cheater lace scarf was an interesting project born out of the fact that, a). I wanted a blue scarf and b). the only blue I had with me was wool sock yarn and c). I didn't have a pattern with me. Voila, the cheater lace scarf pattern was born. For those of you knitting purists out there, I agree that lace is purposeful yarn overs, not just knitting on larger needles, but I have compensated by calling it cheater lace. It is a simple garter stitch, with 2 rows on a small needle and 10 rows on a large needle. I got thru a lot of it while waiting to pick up my daughter after violin lessons. Made wider, the pattern would look nice as a stole to wrap over your shoulders.
