Really, I Can Follow Directions

I find the easiest pattern in the Ravelry library, a hand towel. Easy peasy. Beginner can do it, right? Well, I bungled it big time. Here I am groaning about how the stockinette makes the towel curl. "I am going to change my next one to eliminate this curl," I think to myself. Then I review the directions more closely.....I missed the first step, the edge trim, which is (you guessed it) garter stitch. Doh! Well, since we can't have a curly towel, I picked up the 90 stitches at the bottom and added 4 rows in garter. TA-DA! Worked like a charm.

"If at first you don't succeed, try reading the directions!"
